Former Jets defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers interviewed on Thursday with the Giants for a senior position on the coaching staff that would be created for him, a source told Newsday. NFL Network was first to report the interview.
The Giants do not have any openings on their coaching staff and are not expected to create any vacancies. If Rodgers did join the Giants, it would likely lead to a shuffling of the staff’s responsibilities.
Rodgers, who has worked with defensive linemen for most of his NFL coaching career, could be tapped as, say, a run-defense coach who works with the linemen and linebackers together.
