EAST RUTHERFORD -- The Giants offensive linemen were gathered to watch film Saturday morning when coach Hal Hunter decided to spontaneously put them on the hot seat.
Ereck Flowers more than others.
"A little bit of the old Socratic method in there," Hunter said. "I'll fire a question to this guy, fire a question to that guy. Just to see who is paying attention. Fired two questions at (Flowers), and he had the answers one, two. Engaged in the meeting: That shows a lot."
Building Flowers into a serviceable starting right tackle is about two things: Making sure he is committed behind the scenes -- reports said he exaggerated an injury at the end of last season to miss a game and then he skipped voluntary minicamp -- and improving his skill on the field.
