At Rutgers, Davis was a Freshman All-America in 2007, first-team All-Big East in 2008, and second-team All-America and first-team All-Big East in 2009. Anthony was then drafted by the Niners in the 1st round (11th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.
On July 30, 2010, Davis signed a five-year contract worth $37.5 million, with $15.95 million guaranteed. That contract is currently considered dead due to his temporary retirement, which was announced in June 2015.
In that announcement, Davis stated he wanted time to “let his brain and body heal”, but vowed a return after the break, claiming he wanted to return as the best right tackle in the league.
