The Green Bay Packers informed James Jones that they do not intend to re-sign him for the 2016 season. The 31-year old receiver returned to the Packers after the Week 1 injury to Jordy Nelson and finished the season with a career-high 890 yards.
Giants fans should remember Jones spent the summer and the preseason in New York before he was eventually cut in favor of Preston Parker. Parker dropped five passes in the first two games of the season and then was released himself.
During those first two weeks, Jones had three touchdown receptions and the decision to release him haunted the Giants for weeks to come.
