Former Pro Bowl safety Landon Collins and the New York Giants have not come to terms on a contract extension that will keep the Crimson Tide product in Gotham. In addition, Collins underwent shoulder surgery in December, so his physical outlook remains unknown.
Erstwhile starter Curtis Riley earned a 58.0 grade from Pro Football Focus, and he was on a one-year deal. Bringing Riley back wouldn’t be out of the question, but it also wouldn’t show improvement for a defense that general manager Dave Gettleman largely blamed for a 5-11 record in 2018.
