After being released by the Giants on Tuesday, Ereck Flowers signed a one-year deal the Jacksonville Jaguars, but only after several teams expressed interest in the left tackle who was chosen No. 9 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Flowers had "a half dozen" interested teams, before reuniting with Tom Coghlin and the Jaguars, a league source told NJ Advance Media.
The individual spoke on the condition of anonymity, so that he could speak freely about Flowers' deal.
Flowers' disappointing tenure with the Giants came to an end just over two weeks after being benched prior to a Week 3 contest in Houston against the Texans, but the writing was on the wall when his replacement Chad Wheeler suffered a hand injury and it was guard/center Spencer Pulley who appeared ready to come into the game while Flowers sat on the bench.
