The New York Giants’ mandatory minicamp starts today and ends on Thursday. One player that will not be participating is running back Saquon Barkley as he continues to recover from a torn ACL.
Kim Jones of the NFL Network broke the news on Tuesday.
This isn’t a surprise at all given the fact that right now it would even be a surprise if Barkley is able to participate in training camp when that begins at the end of July.
The reason the Giants added veterans like Corey Clement and Ryquell Armstead last month is because they don’t yet know exactly when Barkley will return and it’s vital right now to have some veteran depth behind him.
