HOUSTON — Saquon Barkley used his legs to rush for 82 yards on 17 carries Sunday at NRG Stadium. But it was his hands that helped the Giants claim a 27-22 win over the Texans.
Barkley had five catches for 35 yards, including back-to-back receptions in the fourth quarter that helped position the Giants for Eli Manning’s 7-yard touchdown pass to Sterling Shepard that sealed the win.
Barkley first caught a short 10-yard pass on second-and-12 that left the Giants with third down and 2 yards to go at the Houston 27. Head coach Pat Shurmur called a play for Barkley to line up wide right, drawing man coverage from Houston linebacker Zach Cunningham.
