The New Orleans Saints have added longtime NFL secondary coach Peter Giunta to their coaching staff, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan.
As first reported by Pro Football Talk, the 59-year-old Giunta will serve as a senior defensive assistant. That was the title Dennis Allen held for the Saints last year until he replaced Rob Ryan as defensive coordinator in November.
The Saints also parted ways this month with secondary coach Wesley McGriff, who became co-defensive coordinator at Auburn. Giunta and new secondary coach Aaron Glenn likely will split duties coaching the defensive backs.
