Promising rookie linebacker Ryan Connelly left Sunday’s New York Giants game against the Washington Redskins in the fourth quarter with what appeared to be a serious right knee injury. Connelly was carted off the field after his right knee buckled when he was trying to make a tackle.
Connelly, who took over as the defensive signal caller last week when Alec Ogletree injured a hamstring, is a fifth-round pick out of Wisconsin.
Connelly had an interception, a sack and five tackles on Sunday.
The Giants have now had injuries to Ogletree, Tae Davis (concussion) and Connelly at linebacker.
