There was a highlight catch and even a touchdown throw from Rueben Randle at Eagles camp this summer. It seemed as if the Eagles had found quite the free-agency steal in the bargain bin … and then Randle played a game.
According to those who closely watched Randle’s preseason performance against the Buccaneers, he was largely disinterested and his play reflected that.
Randle was a constant disappointment in his four years with the Giants, failing to live up to the expectations after being taken in the second round of the 2012 draft. The Giants moved on from Randle, opting not to re-sign him this offseason and watching him go to an NFC East rival on a one-year, $1 million deal.
