The New York Giants made a series of roster moves Saturday afternoon, most notably signing linebacker Darrian Beavers to their active roster off of the practice squad.
The Giants originally drafted Beavers out of Cincinnati in the sixth round (182nd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. Beavers was generally considered to be a Day 2 or early Day 3 prospect but slipped down the draft board. He played up to his initial draft evaluation with an impressive spring and summer for the Giants.
Beavers flashed in camp and the Giants’ first two preseason games with good play downhill against the run as well as in space — which was unexpected of the 6-foot-4, 255 pound linebacker.
