NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — It could have been much worse for Jason Pierre-Paul.
The New York Giants defensive end suffered “severe burns” to his palm and fingers in a fireworks accident on the Fourth of July, ESPN reported. Pierre-Paul was being treated at a hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., CBS2 sources confirmed on Sunday.
JPP’s fingers are intact despite early reports to the contrary, according to ESPN. He underwent tests on one finger for nerve damage, “and doctors believe there will be no permanent damage or disfigurement of his hands,” the network reported.
