NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Mike Smith, a former NFL Coach of the Year who guided the Atlanta Falcons to five straight winning seasons, will interview for the Giants‘ head coaching vacancy Monday, according to multiple reports.
Smith, 56, spent seven seasons in Atlanta, compiling a 66-46 record. But for all the regular-season success his teams enjoyed, Atlanta had just one playoff victory under Smith.
He was fired in December 2014 after back-to-back losing seasons and was out of football this past season.
Smith will be the sixth candidate to interview for the Giants’ job, according to reports.
