NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Jason Pierre-Paul’s Fourth of July fireworks accident may have been even more severe than initially thought.
According to ESPN, the Giants’ defensive end is missing the tip of his right thumb in addition to his right index finger.
The network reports that some in the Giants organization have serious doubts about whether the 26-year-old will be able to play this season.
Last week — when it was believed that JPP might be ready for the season opener against the Cowboys — head coach Tom Coughlin announced that Pierre-Paul was not ready to play, and that there was no timetable for his return.
