ESPN’s Jordan Raanan mentioned the other day that New York Giants’ veteran offensive lineman Nate Solder plans on playing in 2021.
Well, if Solder is in fact going to come back after sitting out the 2020 season, then it looks like he will have to redo his contract. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that the Giants are expected to ask him to restructure his contract.
This makes a lot of sense given that Solder is 32 years-old and on the back-end of his career. Paying him $10 million this year doesn’t make sense at all for a team like the Giants who could use some of that money to improve their roster as they continue to rebuild.
