Rashad Jennings has earned the lead role in the Giants’ offensive backfield after his 22-carry, 81-yard performance in Monday night’s 31-24 victory over the Dolphins.
Tom Coughlin wonders why anyone cares about such things.
“We’ll certainly start that way,’’ Coughlin said Tuesday of giving Jennings the bulk of the work at running back. “For the life of me, I have no idea why you people are so hung up on this, must be nothing else to write about. But certainly, we will.’’
The topic of the distribution at running back was an ongoing story line this season, based on the lackluster ground game and the way the coaching staff spread the ball so thinly, using four backs.
