Fans naturally get excited when a "name" player hits the market after getting cut. But don't expect the Giants to make a flurry of roster changes. Last year, they made two moves immediately after cut-down day: They signed quarterback Josh Johnson and defensive tackle Robert Thomas and cut linebacker Jasper Brinkley and defensive tackle Montori Hughes. Coach Ben McAdoo is big on loyalty and if all things are equal, he leans toward keeping a player that has been in the program all offseason (or longer) over adding a new piece.
The Giants currently have $9.7 million in cap space, which is enough to make a move for the right player.
