EAST RUTHERFORD — Ben McAdoo laid down the law early in camp.
"If you can’t contribute on special teams," the Giants head coach said on Aug. 8, "you are not going to make the roster."
When it comes to deciding the final few spots on the 53-man roster in two weeks, special teams will play a major role. The bottom-of-the-roster players aren't starters on offense or defense, but they are typically starting special teams players on the core four units - kickoff, kick return, punt and punt return. Where players line up in practice and preseason games, and how many snaps they receive, can occasionally be a sign of who will make the club, and who won't.
