A New Jersey priest was arrested Friday after allegedly pointing a musket at an 8-year-old boy for rooting for the Cowboys, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Father Kevin Carter, of St. Margaret of Cortona Church in Little Ferry, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated assault by pointing a firearm for a Sept. 13 incident — the NFL’s opening Sunday.
According to NBC 4 New York, the 54-year-old Roman Catholic priest approached the child before Mass and asked to see him in a rectory room. While there, Carter, a Giants fan, allegedly pointed a functional, Civil War-era musket at the boy, who reportedly was set to root for the Cowboys later that day, and threatened him.
