It took some people by surprise when the New York Giants signed free agent running back Devontae Booker to a two-year, $6 million contract earlier in the offseason.
Pro Football Focus gave the Giants a “below average” grade for signing Booker because they felt like they could have gotten a similar back for cheaper.
Giants’ general manager Dave Gettleman stated last month that they signed Booker because they believe he’s a three-down back.
“One of the reasons we prioritized Devontae is: You can never have too many good players, at any position.
