‘Possible’ New York Giants Claim Former Lions Running Back

According to Art Stapleton of The Record, it’s “possible” the Giants make a run at former Lions running back, Ameer Abdullah.

Abdullah was waived by the Lions on Tuesday.

Stapleton adds that Abdullah would not only serve as a strong option on the depth chart, but he could also give the Giants an option in the return game (49 career kickoff returns).

The Giants waived returner Quadree Henderson in order to add rookie defensive lineman R.J. McIntosh to the active roster.

Thus, opening up a spot for someone with a history of returning kicks.
