Plaxico Burress reveals he played Super with torn ankle ligament, sprained knee (Video)

Former New York Giants’ wide receiver Plaxico Burress was a guest on Bleacher Report’s Untold Stories and revealed that he played through a torn ankle ligament and a sprained knee to help Big Blue win Super Bowl 42.

Burress said it started during training camp of the 2007 season when he favored his right ankle after having bone spurs removed from his left ankle during the offseason. He went up for a pass in camp and heard a noise when landing on his right foot.

Burress then ended up missing all of the preseason and training camp and during the Giants’ week two game against the Green Bay Packers, cornerback Al Harris ended up stepping on Burress’ foot which snapped one of his tendons in half, which led to him having no stability in his foot or ankle.
