NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Plaxico Burress says Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter fumbled his chance to give advice to last year’s incoming crop of NFL players.
Carter has been widely criticized for his comments during the rookie symposium in 2014, when he told NFC prospects to have a “fall guy” to take the hit for any off-field trouble.
“I’ve NEVER tried to blame somebody for my choices, decisions and the consequences I suffered,” Burress tweeted on Monday. “I looked in the mirror first!”
Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg at a Manhattan nightclub in Nov.
