Phil Simms has a message for injured star defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul: You should have trusted the Giants in your time of need.
When Pierre-Paul was confined to a hospital bed in Miami, his right hand nearly blown off after a Fourth of July fireworks accident, two Giants officials traveled to Florida to check in on JPP. They were rebuffed, though, as Pierre-Paul refused to see Ronnie Barnes, the team’s senior vice president of medical services, and Jessie Armstead, the former Giants linebacker who works for the team as a special assistant. On the day Barnes and Armstead were at the hospital, Pierre-Paul was making the decision to have his right index finger amputated.
