Look, on some level, I get it.
The Giants are not a good football team. Pat Shurmur, as their first-year head coach, has to be acutely aware of this no matter what he says publicly to the contrary. He knows he has to take chances to even have a fighter's chance to win each week.
But even that frank assessment of this team doesn't explain what happened in the fourth quarter against the Falcons. Even that can't account for a decision that makes you wonder if Shurmur has any idea what he's doing on the sidelines in his second -- and likely last -- chance as an NFL head coach.
