Pat Shurmur left to second guess his clock management

Did the Giants mess up their clock management late in the first half of Sunday’s 33-18 loss to the Saints at MetLife Stadium?

Coach Pat Shurmur failed to use any of his three timeouts after Drew Brees, with 1:51 remaining in the second quarter, hit Michael Thomas on a 12-yard pass to the Giants’ 8-yard line. That allowed the Saints to drain most of the clock as they set up for a Will Lutz field goal with 11 seconds left before halftime.

By the time the Giants got the ball back, there was only time for an Eli Manning kneel-down to leave the field hearing boos from the crowd of 78,213.
