Giants coach Pat Shurmur continues to heap praise on Daniel Jones, the rookie quarterback taken with the No. 6 pick in the draft.
This time, it was not Jones’ physical skills that caught the attention of the coach. It was what is going on between Jones’ ears.
“Fortunately for Daniel, he’s extremely intelligent and his head is swimming much less than most rookies, I will just say that,’’ Shurmur said Thursday as the mandatory minicamp came to an end.
“For a couple of reasons,’’ Shurmur said. “He’s very smart, he was coached extremely well in college, so he’s been around it.
