There was a sight for sore eyes Wednesday at Giants practice, with a long-lost pass rusher wearing No. 54 finally back in the fold.
For the first time since he left practice with a high ankle sprain on Aug. 26, Olivier Vernon participated in individual drills in an encouraging development as he attempts to make his season debut Sunday against the Saints.
“OV’s coming along,” coach Pat Shurmur said before the Giants took the field.
Vernon was officially listed as limited on the Giants’ injury report.
Eli Apple’s prognosis was not as promising, as the cornerback had a helmet on during stretch but then went off to the side to work with the training staff.
