One of the critical failures of former New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese was his seemingly constant swing for the fences attitude. That mindset spawned multiple high-level draft failures including Owa Odighizuwa, Damontre Moore and Jay Bromley.
To a large extent, the G-Men are still paying the price for a sheer lack of draft depth from 2014-17. The 2015 draft was particularly bad, with only Landon Collins possibly remaining with the club.
How does this hurt?
Drafting star players is nice, but the 53-man roster also requires functional NFL players from top to bottom.
