The so-called "Odell Beckham Rule" highlights 19 proposed rule changes that will be considered by NFL owners during their meetings next week.
The Beckham rule comes from the New York Giants-Carolina Panthers game, during which Beckham continued to play despite drawing three personal fouls during an out-of-control game-long confrontation with Carolina cornerback Josh Norman. Proposed by the Competition Committee, it would allow for the ejection of "a player who is penalized twice in one game for certain types of unsportsmanlike conduct fouls."
Here are the types of unsportsmanlike conduct fouls that would lead to ejection:
- Throwing a punch, or a forearm, or kicking at an opponent, even though no contact is made.
