Odell Beckham Jr. has been suspended one game for his actions on the field in Sunday’s 38-35 loss to the Panthers, the NFL announced Monday afternoon.
The star wide receiver will be given an opportunity to appeal the decision, which is expected to take place quickly. A final decision should be made before the Giants play the Vikings on Sunday night.
Beckham, 23, is the first Giants player ever suspended for on-field actions. The last NFL player to get a similar suspension was Broncos CB Aqib Talib who earlier this season served one game for purposely poking an opponent in the eye.
