John Mara said at the start of training camp that he wanted Odell Beckham Jr. to be a Giant “for a long time.” He appears to be close to accomplishing that.
According to the NFL Network, the Giants are close to signing what it calls a five-year “mega-extension” that will make Beckham the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. That’s a title Beckham has been angling for since last season when his rookie deal began to seem outdated despite not expiring until after the 2018 season. Now it appears he’ll get to wear the crown, at least for a while.
