NY Giants offensive coordinator Jason Garrett has tested positive for COVID-19, the team announced, elevating Freddie Kitchens to offensive coordinator for Sunday’s game.

NY Giants offensive coordinator Jason Garrett tested positive for COVID-19, the team announced Thursday, forcing him out of Sunday night’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

Former Browns head coach, and Giants tight ends coach, Freddie Kitchens will serve as the NY Giants’ offensive coordinator on Sunday night and call the plays against his former team.

Additionally, the Giants canceled Thursday’s scheduled practice “out of an abundance of caution,” and will work remotely, but the team did not identify any high-risk contacts after conducing contact tracing.
