No surprise JPP leaves without deal — he’s nowhere near ready to play

The Giants will not see Jason Pierre-Paul back on the field anytime soon.

Despite the attempt by Pierre-Paul’s camp to paint an optimistic picture of his recovery from serious injuries to his right hand, the Giants have determined – after finally taking a look at the hand on Monday – he is not close to being ready to commence with football activities.

Pierre-Paul headed home Tuesday to South Florida and the $14.8 million franchise tender remains unsigned. The Giants will not pay Pierre-Paul for games he misses as a result of the July 4 fireworks accident that led to the amputation of his right index finger, fractures to his right thumb and burns on his hand.
