There was talk, but no action.
The NFL trade deadline has come and gone. As anticipated, the Giants stood pat. They did not trade for All-Pro left tackle Joe Thomas, make a move for a tight end, add a pass rusher, or anything of that sort.
"We've had some conversations, but there's always some chatter this time of the year," general manager Jerry Reese said Monday. "A lot of talk, and not much action usually at the trade deadline."
So, the 53-man roster the Giants began the day with will be the one they have to get by with over the final nine weeks.
