Picture this: The NFL’s increasingly ridiculous end-zone celebration policy finally may have reached its tipping point.
Giants defensive end Owa Odighizuwa reportedly has been fined $12,154 for his touchdown celebration with safety Landon Collins after Collins’ 44-yard interception return for a score in the Giants’ Week 7 win over the Rams in London.
What did Odighizuwa do to bring the wrath of the league down upon himself, you ask? He took a fake picture. That’s right. As Collins and teammates celebrated the game-changing touchdown, Odighizuwa whipped out an imaginary camera and pretended to document the moment.
The NFL already has made clear its policy on twerking and shooting an invisible bow and arrow, but this latest rule still had to come as a shock to the Giants’ second-year lineman out of UCLA.
