Here's what we know: The Jets have taken phone calls about defensive end Sheldon Richardson, NJ Advance Media teammate Darryl Slater confirmed, with days to go before Tuesday's NFL trade deadline. The seriousness of those talks, though, is unknown.
What we also know: The Giants' pass rush has struggled for most of this season, and Richardson can get after the quarterback. He has 18 sacks in three-plus seasons, and made the Pro Bowl in 2014. And Richardson is 25 (26 in November) and under contract for 2017, while Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul (and defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins) will be an unrestricted free agent after this season.
