Allen Park, Mich. -- For the first time since Saquon Barkley's freshman year at Penn State in 2015, the Giants' rookie running back is at risk of missing a game due to injury.
An ankle injury forced Barkley to sit out two games as a freshman, and it appears likely that a hamstring injury will keep him off the field against the Lions.
"I missed two games my freshman year," Barkley said following Thursday's walkthrough. "It was an ankle injury. I could have come back earlier, but the trainers and coaches had a plan for when they thought I could come back, and wanted to make sure I was coming back fully healthy.
