NFL teams have begun cutting players to gain salary cap space, and an interesting name that hit the wires on Tuesday was now-former Green Bay Packers running back James Starks.
Starks, of course, has familiarity with Giants coach Ben McAdoo from their time together with the Packers. He is a 30-year-old seven-year veteran who has never been a star, or even a starter, but he was always a useful back for Green Bay as both a runner and a receiver.
In seven season with the Packers, Starks averaged 4.1 yards per carry and caught 125 passes.
