If the New York Giants want a veteran placekicker to replace Aldrick Rosas, it appears they are going to have to scratch Graham Gano off their list of possibilities. The Carolina Panthers are expected to use the franchise tag on Gano if they can’t reach a long-term deal by Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline to apply the tag.
The 2017 season was easily the best of the 30-year-old Gano’s career. He was the NFL’s most accurate kicker, making 29-of-30 fields (96.7 percent). His only miss of the season came from beyond 50 yards.
