Free-agent middle linebacker Jasper Brinkley will return to the New York Giants on a one-year contract, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. Brinkley, 30, will share inside linebacking duties with Keenan Robinson, who was signed by the Giants during the first wave of free agency. Per Rapoport, Brinkley has agreed to a one-year deal.
In 15 games and nine starts for the Giants, Brinkley made 67 tackles -- good for third-most on the team -- and forced four fumbles. Brinkley quickly became one of the vocal leaders for the Giants on the defensive end, addressing the team before a Week 13 contest against the New York Jets, and made an immediate impact during his first season with New York.
