According to Andy Martino of SNY, the New York Mets “want” Milwaukee Brewers left-handed relief pitcher Josh Hader.
Martino believes that a potential Mets-Brewers trade is “something to watch” this offseason, adding that it would be tough for Milwaukee to get a position player prospect in return.
Which is what happened to the Mets last offseason when they traded top-notch outfield prospect Jarred Kelenic for then Seattle Mariners closer Edwin Diaz.
Jack Curry of YES Network recently reported that the Mets are also in on free agent relief pitcher Dellin Betances.
