The past few days, the New York Giants have had multiple setbacks as far as their receiving corps are concerned. The first full-team practice of training camp saw a fractured thumb for Sterling Shepard and a torn ACL for Corey Coleman. The former will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis. The latter will miss the entire season.
Because of this, the Giants will have to search for replacements for the time being. Per Art Stapleton of northjersey.com, Big Blue is targeting veteran receiver Kelvin Benjamin.
I'm told veteran WR Kelvin Benjamin – whom Dave Gettleman drafted as GM in Carolina – is among the group of receivers the #NYGiants plan on inviting to their free agent workout Saturday, per source.
