If you haven’t noticed by now, the New York Giants starting right tackle remains Chad Wheeler. That’s fairly noteworthy because Wheeler received a 47.4 grade from the football evaluation website, Pro Football Focus.
Hypothetically, there are 64 starting tackles in the NFL, actually a few more due to injuries. Wheeler’s grade ranked him 78th among NFL tackles.
Houston, we have a problem.
Hopefully, New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman learned his lesson with the Ereck Flowers situation last season. Let’s be clear, we’re not throwing dirt on Wheeler’s NFL career, but the facts cannot be conveniently ignored either.
