The New York Giants will host rookie mini-camp this week after enjoying one of the best draft hauls in recent memory.
In addition to the draft picks, several free agents have been signed throughout the offseason and it’s likely more will be on the radar of GM Dave Gettleman. The Giants chose to release five players ahead of camp with the expectation of signing several new faces in the near future.
The five waived players include safety Ryan Murphy, OL Damian Mama, WR Canaan Severin, RB Terrell Watson and punter Austin Rehkow. The only player that played in a regular season game for the Giants was Murphy, who filled in last year during the injury plagued stretch for Big Blue.
