New York Giants training camp: Takeaways from Thursday’s practice

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Giants completed their seventh day of training camp on Thursday at Quest Diagnostics Training Center. Here are some of the takeaways.

Overview

It was HOT, as the team practiced in shells before Friday’s padded session. Coach Brian Daboll was judicious about the heat, and had the players take their helmets off in-between some team period drills. The practice also ended at 11:40, rather than noon.

Dexter Lawrence (illness) returned to practice, but didn’t participate in team periods. Jordon Riley received the first crack in place of Lawrence in the first team period.
