New York Giants training camp: Takeaways from first padded practice

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Giants completed their fifth day of training camp on Monday at Quest Diagnostics Training Center. Here are some of the takeaways.

Overview

Tomon Fox (hamstring) and Dexter Lawrence (illness) did not participate today in the Giants first padded practice of the season. Lawrence Cager briefly left the beginning portion with a lower-leg injury; he went off on the side with a trainer and eventually returned. Brian Burns had his right ankle checked out by the trainers. It did not appear to be serious, but he was done for the rest of practice.
