The New York Giants have added a new member to their already-impressive defensive back unit. According to a report from Dan Benton of Giants Wire, former Monmouth safety Mike Basile was signed on Monday. This comes after the Giants released cornerback Teddy Williams upon his request due to personal reasons.
While in college, Basile immensely impressed coaches and scouts. The defensive back was Monmouth’s all-time leading tackler. He also became the first Associated Press FCS All-American for Monmouth in 2017. Speaking on numerous other honors, Basile was the FCS Athletic Directors Association’s Defensive Back of the Year.
