According to James Kratch of NJ.com, “don’t sleep” on the New York Giants using running back Shane Vereen as the featured back this upcoming season.
Vereen, who missed 11 games due to injury last season, has never eclipsed 100 carries in any of his six NFL seasons.
But, besides the fact that he’s never carried the workload in any backfield, Vereen posses all the qualities of someone you’d want to receive the majority of the touches.
He’s an exceptional pass blocker, excellent receiver, and provides great ball security (just four career fumbles as both a runner and receiver).
